Mix and mingleSocial event at tourney is a firstDUSTIN J. SEIBERT | CIN WEEKLY
JUST THE FACTS An afterparty to a tennis tournament may not exactly be your idea of a rockin' time, but you'll get a chance to kick it with the cream of the tennis crop at the Summer Soiree to Mingle at the Masters. The inaugural fund-raising event will go down in a tent next to the Lindner Family Tennis Center following the Seniors tournament on Saturday, July 31. The dress code is "summer sophisticated/sporty chic," so you have an idea about what can be expected at this upscale event. "Past events have been geared toward the older crowd, so this is the first time that there will be an event geared toward young professionals," says event co-chair Arlene Aranzamendez. Certainly, the chance to win a Mercedes Benz SLK350 will generate some interest in the Soire. A two-year lease for the 2005 model will be raffled off at the event. The father-sons group Wayne Bryan and the Bryan Brothers Band will perform at the Soiree - that is, after the twin brothers play in the tournament to defend their title as the No. 1 ranked men's doubles team. Apparently, becoming among the best in tennis doesn't keep Bob and Mike Bryan from being in one of the rockingest bands around. "These guys are really known in the tennis scene," says Aranzamendez. Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Heart Association. |
