Boston Bound!!!

Made you look! My husband is running in the Boston marathon this Monday. Adam is more of a "Lance" type of runner. He talks about things like intervals, sprints, 800rds, long run, recovery run and carbloading. Adam also has his "running bible" which he reads daily that talks about marathon training, and has lots of good technical information about how to be faster, run for longer, and be the best you can be. He also only drinks Endurance Gatorade since that is what will be served on Race Day. Friends, let me tell you, I am married to a SERIOUS runner.

A couple of weekends ago after Adam ran a 22 miler, we went to dinner and then to a friends house. At around 10, we were both feeling pooped from our long runs, and decided to head home. Adam says, "You know I don't feel too bad right now, I must not have pushed myself enough". It took everything I had not to want to scream at him and say "BUT YOU RAN 22 MILES, IS THAT NOT ENOUGH?"

Adam qualified for Boston in his FIRST marathon. He can do anything he puts his mind too. Engineering degree, check, law school, check, boston marathon, check! The next thing he wants to train for is a triathlon. Remember his bike accident? This man is hard core.

Why am I talking so much about Adam? Because I am his biggest cheerleader. As crazy as I think he is sometimes about his running, I would not be running in the Flying Pig in a couple of weeks if not for his motivation and seeing his drive. I WANT to be a better runner. I WANT to eventually run in Boston. I WANT this to be a lifetime activity for me. We went running in Tampa at the beginning of the year when we were there for a wedding, and passed an old couple jogging. I had no question in my mind that we would be those people in 50 years. Still together, still smiling, and still running. I love you babe, and good luck on Monday......

Adam's biggest fan,

Amber
