A nice break

Posted by Love

Yes, I was on vacation.

And since pinch-hitter Gina Daugherty wrote the official "editor's column" this week (thanks, G), this posting will be a little less structured.

OK, a lot less structured.

• I had the opportunity to attend the opening celebration for the Purple People Bridge Climb last night. CiN Weekly is planning a "CiN LIVE" event there later this summer. More to come.

• This week's issue of CiN features a cover illustration by our very own Rob Warnick. Rob's drawings pop up all over the magazine and have really added to the personality of CiN - his unique style is unmistakable. Check out links to some of his work at warnickart.com.

• The picture above was taken by my wife, Wendy, at Ocean City, MD. I fancy myself the family photographer, but she has uncorked a few beauties. (And yes, I realize that this is my best side.) I'm enjoying these father-and-son moments before the boy gets older and realizes how uncool it is to wear matching hats with his father.

About me
I worked in journalism for about four years before jumping at the chance to help develop a new publication that eventually came to be known as CiN Weekly. My days at CiN are spent designing pages, planning stories and writing the occasional craft or food piece.
